Inlaid with silver to show stars on lattice, and circular Mon (clan symbols). Signature on the the front appears to read Kashu Sho ju Sokuji saku” (made by Shoju Sokuji of Kashu). Kashu is in Kaga province, present day Ishikawa prefecture.

A genuine piece of Japanese armour from the 17th century, beautiful and sculptural, that fully evokes the era of samurai and the shogunate.

Condition is consistent with age, some loss to the inlay, rust and old areas of corrosion, cracks and discolouration to the lacquer, as seen in images.
